Picture This

Creative displays of photo cards can spark interest in your home or store. With the holiday season upon us, retailers are getting their stores ready and always face a challenge of how to effectively display the wide variety of photo cards they offer in a small space.

The Umbra waterfall stands (shown here in Something Blue store in Conway Arkansas) are a great solution and are available for purchase on Umbra's on-line store.

A more natural approach is a wall display using a fallen tree branch. Left natural or spray-painted bright red, it gives you plenty of room to layer on photo cards for an attractive presentation useful in store or home.

Giddy Up...Wells Turns Four!

Please pardon our lack of blogging. We have been so busy helping customers our blog has been overlooked. We are pleased to be breaking our haitus with Well's boot skooting birthday party. What is more precious than little boys and girls adorned in shiny cowboy boots and big hats. Little boy western themed parties can be done with as few or as many accessories you like.

Invitation Wording: "Wear your best western duds and Join us for some Horsin' around. Festivities begin at high noon at "your name" Ranch. Give us a holler if yer comin'!

"Howdy Partner! Come celebrate Outlaw (your childs name) Birthday. Y'all get ready for the best Rootin-Tootin party of your life. So saddle up your horse and mosey on down. See Y'all there (date and time). Have your Sheriff give our Sheriff a shout at (your number)

Decorations: Cowboy hats and bandanas are a must! Use them as decorations on the table and allow the kids to wear throughout the party. Red and white checkered tablecloth is a fun table setting with a southern-western twist. Inviting Company Red Dot tableware makes an excellent addition to the red and white color scheme.

Food: Serve BBQ, beans, potato salad and individual slices of watermelon- (kid's love anything they can eat with their fingers.)

Fun: The horse riding photo-op was a hit at the party with all the guests. You can find tons of wild background cutouts online or make your own. Wanted Poster or desert background would be a fun do it yourself project.

Just Monkeying Around

Monkey themed kids birthdays are so popular that we had to come out with tons of party goods to make the kids go banana's! One of our retailers Giftaria has a great selection for you to choose from.  Also, check out these cute games from www.entertaining.com  you can play at your little "monkeys" party.

Play Monkey See, Monkey Do - Have the children sit in a large circle. Select one child to leave the group momentarily, then appoint another child as the head monkey. The head monkey will lead the group in funny monkey moves such as patting their heads, or rubbing tummies, etc. However, the head monkey needs to do this as secretly as possible. The game begins when the child who left the room returns to the group. She or he has to guess who the head monkey is while the monkeys in the circle try not to look too obviously at the head monkey as they follow his lead. Once the guesser discovers who the head monkey is, she can return to the circle and the head monkey becomes the next guesser.

Goody Bags-There are many choices for banana flavored candy including taffy, lollipops, jelly beans, etc. Fruit shaped candy would also fit the theme, especially Wonka Runts. Other monkey items could include socks with monkey pictures; monkey notepads; monkey topped pens; monkey stuffed animals.

Peeking in on Papers Plus

One of our Michigan designers, Michelle, stopped by Papers Plus in Grand Rapids for a visit to see the Inviting Company selection. It was a wonderful store full of everything from stationery, wedding & baby products and gifts. Papers Plus was no stranger to Inviting Company, they had quite a few invitations, cocktail napkins, frost flex cups and more. The owner PK was warm and kind and ready to help out all of her customers, she knew them on a first name basis and really knew their personal styles. The store itself was inviting and personable. The perfect spot for all your paper and gift giving needs.

Michelle interviewed PK and here is what she had to say. Thanks so much PK, your store rocks!

Reed & Wright Wedding

Love was in the air this past Saturday!! July 18th was the date of our own National Sales Assistant's wedding. Heather Wright and David Reed tied the knot in a garden ceremony in Little Rock, Arkansas in front of many family and friends. Special touches were everywhere, from the iridescent pearls draped on iron gates to the Polaroid instant photo room! One touch that was extremely popular with everyone was the outside drink station. Guests could get their fill of pink lemonade in darling "Love is in the Air" frost flex cups from the Mindy Weiss for Inviting Company line. Their wedding favors received Mindy's stamp of approval for originality!!! Because of their last names, Heather decided to use a photo bookmark and personalized pencil, reminding guests to "Reed & Wright". For guests wanting a midnight snack after an evening of dancing, another favor contained s'more fixings with a label that read "Take S'more LOVE home!! A wonderful time was had by all with Heather's new step daughter, Georgia, age 4, proclaiming it was the "Best party she's ever been to!!"

It's party time!

Papaya art tins as flower vases and also used their art boards throughout the hall as decorations.

Heather Bailey's bright floral fabric was used as table toppers and decoration on the buffet.
